soderstrom as catcher

so i am in a keeper league and intend to use tyler soderstrom as my primary catcher vs rhp. when i have him and another catcher on my draft list it claims i need two players who can play catcher on my roster. if i add a third catcher this goes away.

anyone else having this problem?

It's because catcher is his secondary position. You need two primary catchers on your draft list, but after the draft you can dump one of them and keep Soderstrom.

Yes, Soderstrom’s primary position is 1B so if you miss out on him during the autodraft, you’ll be given someone else whose primary position is 1B, (most likely not also a catcher) which would leave you with only one catcher. Which SOM does not allow.

The only way around this is to list the 3rd catcher on your draft card so you’ll be guaranteed to finish the draft with at least two catchers. Then you can drop one of those catchers and roll with Soderstrom as one of your two catchers.

Once Soderstrom is officially on your roster, he counts as a catcher. Before that he counts as a first baseman.
