Cano

Is Cano really worth 11+/m. I know he can put up huge numbers but is that a lot of salary for his card?

Short answer is NO.

Long answer is NO as well. You are paying probably $2 million for his defense, and another million because he's a Yankee. :D

If I'm paying that much for a player, I want him maxed out both ways or I want a guy with 40 + hit chances & lots of TB's both ways. Robbie doesn't give you that.

I have him in a keeper league and he has been awesome, but visick is right. In a 80 mil league, it is just too much to pay for a one way player, no matter how good that one way is.

you're paying 4 mil for that defense, if it was 2 mil (i.e. a 9 mil player) he wouldn't be so bad.

That and he's useless vs LHP

unless you have no one else to hit RHP on your team, seems like a huge $$ sinkhole.

I agree Cano is overpriced, so are a lot of the high priced guys. How can Andrew McCutchen be in the same price range as Mike Trout? How come Chase Headley is so expensive?

I have him in a league right now and he is performing but his salary dwarfs the rest of my team. Of course noone is burning up the phones to ask for him in a trade. The 20% penalty is so steep..but I could improve 2-3 positions with some minor tweeking. Oh well a learning expierence.

For reference here is a link to my team that is just meandering below .500 .....

Cano is overpriced for sure, but I think there is a case for Headley:

- elite OB vs RH
- full BP HR vs both sides
- strong D
- low GIDPs
- decent speed/steals
- won't be injured much if at all, nearly Iron

My take is he should hit a ton in the right park, and that is factored into his price. Putting it to the test in the POC now.

I have had Headley on a couple occasions and he has been worth the cash in both. Here is his line from a completed league

So, regarding Cano, the next question is - has anyone won a championship in a normal $80M league with him on the team? If so, please post a link. Thanks.
