Coors ERA?

PostThu Jun 27, 2013 5:03 pm

My team now has a 6.29 ERA in 28 games. I know Coors Field will allow a lot of runs, but I spent 33 million on pitching, most of which fits well with the park. My rotation is Gio, Peavy, Kuroda, Harrell, and my bullpen has Balfour and Belisario, along with valverde and scribner. I thought my problem would be offense, not pitching, but my team has hit 80 HRs in 30 games and leads the league in runs by 30. The problem is that I've allowed the exact same number of runs, and I'm 14-16 in those 30 games. Do you think the rolls will start going my way, or did I screw something up?

On your roster page, click on the Sim Misc tab.
Check and see how the rolls have been going.

You now have a good idea why my Colorado Rockies will never again be able to sign a top-tier free agent pitcher! (That and the owners are cheap.)

Rolls are 51.9% hitters cards. For anyone willing to share, what ERA do you expect to end up with on an 80m coors team, when you do spend some on pitching? I thought if I outhomered my competition I'd be fine, but I have, 80-58, and I'm not winning yet.

28 games is an awful small sample size, your teams' E.R.A. will go down some. But it is an 80 million dollar league and you are playing in Coors, runs will be scored. The lineups of most of these 80 million dollar teams are better than that of real MLB teams... Post a link to your team and you will get more feedback from some of the vets.

My team changes based on the pitcher, but generally it is
C Ross 3e1 (-2)
1B Encarnacion 3e7
2B Utley 2e14
SS Desmond 2e19
3B Longoria 2e28
LF Fernando Martinez 3e4
CF Rasmus 2e7
RF Gomes 4e10

But, Sometimes Campana 2e5 plays RF. My D isn't great, but I don't think its bad

NYY82602, your team defense does not look awful, but an 80 million dollar team in Coors is going to have a ballooned E.R.A.
I hope you have a decent backup at 2B. Utley is a good value, but he will be injured some. I like your infield, I am not wild about your outfield, but maybe they are just not my type of guys. Can you post a link to your team?

Mastermosser 14, I like the look of your Coors team, I like to use many of those same players. I like what you have done with the pitching staff, I use a similar approach. Austin "Action" Jackson is tearing it up for you, and Mauer is solid. (side note: That Coors sure is a crappy beer, I miss the old names of ballparks, stadiums, arenas, amphitheaters and rock concert halls before every venue had to sell out to corporate sponsors. It is the American way, I suppose.

Happy Fourth of July, fellas!

At this point, this team has scored tons of runs, even more than I've given up, and yet...they're not winning. It feels like every game, my team either wins in a blowout or is just good enough to lose by 1.
