Beware new rules about relief apply

In my league, all relievers who have pitched in four games (out of six) have had games where they entered as F0, except when relievers were kept at 4 innings or under.

Nice of them to tell us these things. I wonder if it affects ATG?

Injuries to RP are more costly with these new rules also.

I got a top R2 reliver injured for 8 games, now the rest of pen is overused and enters games at f0 nearly every night after that injury, almost impossible to win like that. What irritates me the most is the rule change mid-season with existing leagues.

Most relievers are R2 even R3. Maybe the new rules apply only to R1.

To give one specific example, Doolittle came in fatigued right off the first pitch even though he had one day of rest the day before. Apparantly he needed two days of rest. He had pitched 5 innings in his previous two appareances.

In another case, Oliver Perez and Josh Harder came in fatigued right off the first pitch in their second consecutive appearance. They had pitched the maximum 3 innings the day before.

Thanks Luckyman. I had not noticed until I saw this post. I'm seeing this issue on my first team w/ Santiago Casilla.

Game 1 - Entered at F9, 3.2 innings left game w/ F0
Game 2 - Entered at F0, 1.1 innings left game w/ F0, faced 4 hitters at F0
Game 4 - Entered at F9, 0.2 innings left game w/ F0, recorded 1 out and immediately went to F0 (6th inning non-closer situation), faced 4 batters at F0
Game 5 - Entered at F9, 2.0 innings left game w/ F0

The way fatigue is determined definitely is different.

I also don't understand why Hal left Casilla in so long in these games or why he was brought in when there were other relievers that should not have been fatigued. I didn't have any individual settings for Casilla, just the role assignments for Closer, Setup, Middleman, Tied & Late, and Tied & 9th+. I have an alternate reliever set for each of these roles. Doesn't make sense for Hal to blindly insert Casillo as the Middle Man when he is at F0 or reaches F0 and leaves him in the game.

Since I'm also experiencing this issue with my 2018 team, I emailed strat at 365support@strat-o-matic.com and I suggest everyone also email them with this issue as they do NOT read the forum posts. If enough people email them, they MAY do something about this sooner vs. later!

My game 5 was 14 innings and my game 6 was 19 innings. Marc, you may as well know that Berrios will be set to F0 in game 7 against you. I don't really have a choice. I added a 12th cheap pitcher just in case, but I'm sure my entire pen is gassed.

It does look like SOM (finally) implemented on their 365 game rule 27.65

7.63 The maximum number of innings a reliever can pitch
without fatigue is his POW inning, plus 2.
27.64 Relief pitchers cannot be used more than two straight
days. After pitching two straight days, he must rest at least one day.
27.65 Rule Update in 2010: If a reliever pitches 2 or more in-
nings above his relief fatigue rating then he must rest one day before
his next appearance. If he pitches 3 or more innings above his relief
fatigue rating then he must rest two days before his next appearance.
If a relief pitcher is used without this proper amount of rest, consider
him fatigued for the entire outing.

He NEVER worked 2+ innings over r2(4 innings), he rested game5, and he entered game 6 f0. Why???????????????
