For the "Valdez Fien Tazawa" strategy, put him at closer, setup and middle. The only other pitcher roles you would use would be l and r specialists. set him at don't remove until F7 (or lower if you're comfortable with that, I am not). You'll get about 180-220 quality innings

Seems like Medlen could get 300+ innings without even going over his R3. And maybe that's still not worth it in an 80M league.
