i.e. you have 100 ab guy who is currently prices at 7 million. Usage at 110% = (110/600) * 7 mil = 1.28 mil.
This formula would need to be seriously tweaked. In this case, you have a stud card that will price the same a a mediocre backup. Both will end up with 110 ABs for the same price, but obviously you rather have the guy originally priced at 7 mil.
I also argue that limiting ABs in this game will open up the game to other abuses. For example, if I'm battling another team for first, guess which games the limited-playing-time stud will be used. And while you could counter that this is simply good strategy, it's no more realistic than the overuse you see now.
Seriously, calm down.
First we are talking about another option when you create a league, you wouldn't HAVE to play it so don't get your panties in a bunch here.
Second, for example to the 2012 set, there is no one that has that few AB's priced that high. I was giving random numbers. Let's take the curios case of Brandon Moss at 8.74 mil. at 265 Ab's, plus 10% = 291. So the salary would become 4.25 mil. So you could draft him, but even platooning him vs RHP would net 400 ab's or so. How would you play him over the season? Sit him vs many teams? Again I also said there should be a bump to guys with over 600 ab's to even it out.
Also you would have to realize how this would affect pitching as well. No one would be able to run with a pure 4 man staff. No one. We would all be running 12 man pitching staffs, in fact we would probably need SOM to increase the max pitchers to 14 to cover the inning requirments. It would be very difficult.
