This happened last night in an ATG AL league...

the setup:

C - Biz Mackey hurt so Jaime Quirk, as only other catcher, is slotted in at C for the series
1b - McGwire injured in game 32
backup 1b - B. Garbey also injured in game 32
No one assigned in 2nd backup slot
C. Fielder is slotted in the DH slot

Game 33:
HAL moves Quirk from C to 1b
and puts Butch Hobson behind the plate...

I see the twisted logic, Quirk has a 1b rating - but what's better?
Quirk C 4(+2)e15 & Hobson 1b 5e65 (I'm think this is default rating for an out of position player)
or
Quirk 1b 4e28 & Hobson C 5(+?)e65

Weird!! :o

Last night my nine-man-team faced Kuroda, a 1R righty.

As described above, I juggled the order of the lineup preferences. They were in this order:

C: I - Brantly, I - Pacheco, Perez
DH: I - Lowrie, I - Pacheco, Perez
1B: Trumbo, I - Pacheco
3B: I - Longoria, I - Pacheco, Trumbo

As expected, with this arrangement HAL started Perez at catcher. Young was found on the bench and inserted at DH.

What I can't explain: HAL started Trumbo at 3B and put Quentin at 1B. Previously (see above) HAL had left Trumbo at first and put Quentin at 3B. Maybe there is a random element to this? Or perhaps HAL's batting order has something to do with it (HAL started the players in an order that was not suggested by strictly following my lineup depth chart).
