Seems like Pagan is under rated here? I wonder how he'd rate if just considered as a platoon? He sure seems like a bargain

As a DH and platooning he's a nice value. I would not want to play him at center or against lefties.

I just finished my final fine-tuning on my ratings, so I will update the lists on first page soon.

Pagan looks actually good, I have him at 2.75M, so a 0.58M bargain. His NERP vs lhp is 6.1, whereas the benchmark I have for platooning is 6.0 NERP, so his value vs lhp is roughly at 0.5M.

Don't forget that these ratings are set for a neutral stadium, Pagan's value gets a boost in small-ball park.

An update of my ratings, for the top guns (players worth 6M or more), to join the conversation on the other thread.

For recall, neutral stadiums are assumed: si: 10/10 hr: 9/9; roughly 29%/71% lhp/rhp (28%/72% for starters and 30%/70% for relievers)

I calculated the NERP of every player based on offense, defense, running, position, and playtime.

In summary: all players over 10M+ are better values than their suggested pricetag. On average, they cost 11.05M and their estimated salary based on their NERP (according to my ratings and calculations) should be 11.67M.

In the 8M-10M range: only 3 players (out of 20) are better than their pricetag (this includes Posey whose suggested salary is 8.78M---0.01M better than his pricetag. On average, they cost 8.66M and their value is 8.13M. A. Jones appears as one of the worst value--perhaps an indication that I don't value arm rating not high enough--or else, that strats overvalues arm rating.

Players in the 6M-8M are more diversified..some good values, some bad, and some ugly (Carlos Santana).

For what is worth, in the semi-final Tour I'm playing in, none of the player that my ratings estimated as overpriced by more than 1M were drafted nor used---which suggests to me that my ratings are better at estimating the real value of players compared to Strat salary structure. This said, to have a complete picture, I should post the players value in different stadium contexts...maybe in another post.

lead pos stands for leading position (position where the player is a better value...1 stands for dh).

I'll speculate here, but it looks as if the SOM staff reduced intentionnally the salary of the 10M+ player without touching the salaries under 10M....

"No one would draft Trout at 13M, so let's have those high salaries get down a little" kinda logic...
