Thanks, I wasn't sure if I was allowed to like this absolutely fantastic ingenious addition .

Of course the regular game will still be available. When they came out with the advanced and super advanced games you could still play the basic game, this will be no different. They are just adding an ingenious new upgrade for those who interested.... Some will always resist change, they know that.

Don't fool yourselves into thinking they did this for US guys. They already own US. They did this to attract new revenue via a younger demographic. I am happy to see more significant innovation after many years of incremental changes. I am not sure I will be so into this approach because of the degree of luck/randomness involved vs. skill, but I did something similar in basketball years ago and it was fun, just very different from how we play strat today. Kudos for SOM for doing it, and if it leads to a mobile/app real-time version of SOM vs the horrid netplay experience we have now with the PC game, well that would be awesome...

I welcome change, but wish it would happen with the present online game. I use to play 40 plus auto leagues a year, now I am down to just my 2 keeper leagues. No plans on going back until they change the antiquated way players are selected in the auto draft. Missing out on a selection, and getting someone useless for your park or your general strategy happens more often than not.

It looks great to me. They are factoring historical data with the initial card then updating based on daily performance in 2016 and crediting or debiting the card based on a current hot streak or slump in real life..
It will allow you to basically use the same info as the real Manager in setting a lineup each night. Your poor fielding LF that crushes the ball is in a slump so you sit him that night and bring in better D and/or speed. This is a HUGE jump especially considering how slow Strat has normally been in updating the game over the years.

"They own us" someone wrote.... Whatever.... SOM is a great game, the mystery game takes that greatness a step further and this is the best addition yet.... Some of the complainers sound like Grandpa begrudging the snowblower because in his day he had to shovel snow.

Well said. I can't believe people don't like this idea, it is huge!

I think some of these people who have played thousands of teams with the same format are worried about having to learn a new game where the future is uncertain. I have noticed a lot of the so called "Top Managers" are afraid of the mystery game for this very reason. Some people will always resist and be afraid of change.

Since all the old formats will still be here noone has to learn a new format if they don't want to do so. Hence no one is worried. Those who want play it will. Those that choose not to, won't. Both valid choices. Some will take a wait and see attitude.

It intrigues me but there are a lot of unanswered question as to how the cards will be formulated and to what extent they will change.
