Thanks Marc, a lot of really good suggestions. My calculator is working ot with different scenarios with what I have available in FA including many players everyone has suggested. No hits yet on my offering Gordon which is a bit surprising with a few small ball parks in the league and he is hitting .360 in another league I am in so he can hit in the right park. Stay tuned for updates haha.

Sebastian,

You just broke rule #1 for a successful team: don't scrap 15M and lose over 1M in the first week just because some guys are underperforming. You have a nice 8-4: find how to spend the extra 4M, and try to stick to your players as long as you can

This is excellent advice.
Here's a team that started 0-13, I've clawed back to .500 (actually was 3 game over) without making any roster moves. Do not panic over a poor start. This game is very streaky.

the only time I ever made big early changes like that was when, thru oversight, I realized I was deficient in some aspect to match up against my division. I've learned and now spend a lot more time post waivers making sure I have a decent mix. as marc said spend that 4 million wisely and take your shot. ss and sp seem to me to be the obvious places to improve.
case in point on patience I was whining in another thread about my 1st 2016 team, stuck in a glitched 20% drop penalty league, being 15-22 with no hope to be righted. well I made no changes, except lineup and pitching adjustments, and have since gone 27-11. I am finally in the wild card spot and am 30 runs ahead of the 2nd best team in run diff. in a 5% league I probably would have ruined my team.

I understand about being patient. The early moves were brought on by two things being shut out twice in the first nine games and the players I dropped I had noticed have underperformed in every other league I have checked here on the boards while the two I picked up seem to be doing well in the other leagues. It also does give me almost 5 mil. to improve a starter or two if I can find any available in the 3 and under range.

I definitely put stock in players over multiple leagues, as long as ball park is factored in. my 1st year on strat I didn't have a clue what I was doing. it was only after I started studying the rosters of the teams dominating my leagues that I started being competitive. I saw betances crush my 1st 2014 league and I had him on every subsequent team, earning 2 cy young awards along the way.
now with the bar graphs I can do ok for myself, but I still love to see who's crushing it (or giving great value) on the elite teams.
edit: I didn't see cozart at short when I suggested the upgrade there. has he been hurt almost all season for you? or did you pick him up for dozier?

I picked him up for Dozier and moved Galvis to 2b. I usually like to look at other teams as well especially since I dont really have much time to do card crunching or the like so it is awesome some guys will post teams or leagues to look at

Another good source is to go through all of the player's championship tournament teams. You can access all of the leagues from the tournament main page, and study the better teams in a highly competitive environment.

Thank you Steve!! Every little bit of help I can get is appreciated. I been playing this for long time and when it was first introduced on TSN I had much more success then I do now, maybe because I had more time to really study the cards etc but would like to be more than a league filler with this set haha
