Every time someone brings up the fact that no current SP only have 3 days rest so it should be eliminated I like to point out that never in baseball history has a team played a game for 162 days in a row like this online game either so it is not exactly 3 days of rest but 3 team games of rest no matter how many days that is.

I know that no current team has a pitcher go every 4 team game either but it is a way to let the SP that pitched more innings in real life be able to do so in this game as well. Sort of like not allowing a hitter with more than 600 (AB + BB) become injured for more than 3 games in a row. There are no such limitations on injury in real life. That just helps those batters get more AB than maybe other batters that didn't have as many real PA.

They could put a rest day in every nine games--Not a real rest day but a programmed one to keep the season two months roughly--that way the 5th guy could be skipped half the time.

LM-

I get it that it's a simulation, I just don't see any SP making 41 starts per season. I have DeGrom in my keeper league, he pitched 41 games for me, went 27-12 and threw 318 innings. In 2018, he threw 217 IP for the Mets. 4 man rotations are no longer part of MLB. Not sure why I see why they have to persist in SOM.
Make no mistake, I will roll DeGrom & Flaherty out there 41 times each this season. It just seems like an easily correctable loophole.

Yet, most who complain are often silent when the likes of Sam Hilliard (he of all of 77 AB's) get 500 plus AB's in the upcoming season, which in my opinion is much worse.

He's unleashed so not in our set. I know that there is no perfect answer and we all play by the same rules so one must adapt and overcome.

Thats how I see it as well. As long as the rules are the same for everyone and each has a chance to take advantage in whatever way, its ok by me.

There is even a simpler way. Just limit all batters to their PA + 10% and pitchers to IP + 10%. That will give us more realism. Allow transactions after game 142.

never work. nobody will pay the transaction fees. There are plenty of usage based Windows game keeper leagues for that style of play. I'm currently in 8 of them.

I don't get, and never have, the uproar with the overuse.

SOM online is NOT (and never will be) the SOM CD Game. If you want that, buy that.

SOM Online is a "what if?" using the SOM cards, with 12 team leagues with a salary cap. There is no salary for the card in SOM CD game.

You cannot use 12 RP over the season, and 10 starters, and expand to 40 with free players, etc etc. It isn't to recreate the season exactly., It's strictly a what-if, and people should stop trying to make it be the CD game. Hell the CD game is cheaper in the long run if that's what you want.

So yes, RP's will get used more, players with 50 ab's will now get 500. That is the point of the online game.

PREACH!!!

Same reasoning can be applied to the unleashed set. I do not understand why it's needed. Just price 'em right and give us all the cards.
