If there was an alternative more modestly priced ( and I sure some young tech guys & programmers ) could emulate the software, they would lose much or all of there 365 product. As loyal & valued customers, we deserve communication & updates. Anyone got a geek son-in-law ? I would finance the business myself.
What we really need to do is get a bunch of players together and file a class action lawsuit to get Strat's emails and texts, because all circumstantial evidence suggests games are being programmed & influenced to reward some players on the "inside" while punishing others. The key is the card "splits" between pitchers and catchers results; it's very easy to distinguish repetitive patterns once you know what you're looking for.
I'd also point people to the change that's occurred since Hal Richman stepped away and handed over control to his son. This fits the distressing pattern of modern America where the dad works hard and is a visionary and builds something worthwhile before the spoiled kids who've accomplished nothing ruin it. I doubt Strat0Matic will exist in a few years as the customer base dies off and is not replaced. Just my opinion!
I'll remind everyone there was a mass exodus of online Strat players during the Sporting News ownership, when a popular player discovered all kinds of discrepancies and was making vague comments about corruption inside the company. Strat denied, denied and denied, until they stopped denying and admitted "normalization" of card results was affecting gameplay, "Same as it ever was," I suspect.
Are there any lawyers here? I don't think the people running the show nowadays at Strat are very bright; they've merely got the power of secrecy from a veiled programming opp. We pull back the veil legally and I suspect their scam falls apart in record time. You'd own Strat0Matic by the time it's done, then maybe we can make it good again, though I don't know how you get past the perilously aging Boomer customer demographic (of which I am one).
Otherwise, I'm out for good. IMHO the corruption has become too obvious, the customer service too contemptuous, and I refuse to support it.
