Coyote wants to ban another poster because he is "bad for the community" and "bad for business." Not only does he not support those statements in any way, he doesn't even specify what he means. That is reprehensible.

I've been here since the beginning, and I've seen many people cry about SOM's censorship. Until today, I''ve never seen someone call for censoring another poster for such unfounded, nebulous reasons. If people can just go around doing that in the forum, then there really is something wrong in the community: the Forum's own brand of McCarthyism.

If people have problems with a poster, then constructively confront them with it. I have already said I would welcome such criticism at any time. But Coyote's reckless posting "about" me just doesn't cut it. This poll was a joke the moment Salty started posting on his own poll thread. Now, it's just a travesty.

STRAT-O-MATIC BASEBALL ONLINE FORUM RULES

As a member of the Strat-O-Matic Baseball Online community, each time you use the forum you are agreeing to the Strat-O-Matic Terms of Service. This requires that you adhere to the following rules when you use the Strat-O-Matic Baseball Online Forum.

1. This forum is for healthy discussion about Strat-O-Matic Baseball Online only. Talk about online baseball, debate about strategy, get help for your teams, ask a general knowledge question about the game, even rant about last night's heartbreaking loss. We encourage you to participate, as long as you contribute towards a positive experience for the community.

Our promise to you is that this will be a fun and positive place to hang out and discuss your online leagues. We will not allow others to ruin the experience for you.

This would probably be a fairly good time for SOM to step in and back up their own stated policy.

I completely agree. this thread has absolutely nothing to do with SOM or online baseball. Just like Druid's abusive post to Moose, it definitely hasn't contributed towards a positive experience for the community. Because of that, I have reported this thread and it's creator to SOM as being irrelevant, slanderous, and inflammatory.

As to our last exchange, J-Pav, I hope you saw I forgave you for fudging the facts about when you "went off the rails" against me. You did ruin my experience for me that day, but I hold no grudge. If you need a reminder, though, I will gladly post for everyone that antagonistic post of yours.

Heavy sigh.

For the record, I stand with salty, scorehouse, badjam, coyote, bbfan, Last Druid, et al and i.e, "The Community".

I didn't want somebody to read that response to my post and assume I agree with the misrepresentation that I believe this thread has absolutely nothing to do with SOM or online baseball.

It most certainly does.

It most certainly doesn't; and the Rules say so. There hasn't been a single post presented against me on this entire thread. All there has been has been sad, unfounded gossip and commiseration...even from our new tourney commissioner.

And if you actually think you guys are "the community"' in an actual community of over 2000 members, then your arrogance is sad as well.

I'm done with this thread, too. I have to deal with my real kids, now. Gossip about me all you like.

Guys there is a relatively simple solution to all this. If you find his posts distracting or otherwise undesirable just list him as one of your foes. You will never even see what he posts. If you like what he posts do nothing. In the end there can only be an argument if you participate.

It took me most of my life to learn this.

Just ignore and walk away from those who try to antagonize you and the argument fizzles. Eventually the person trying to argue with you gets tired of the one way conversation and either changes approach or just goes away in to the night.

Oh yeah? Well, um....

I think this might be where cooler heads prevail.

There is no issue with me if anyone/everyone decides to put him on ignore.

The thing is, this whole issue got started with me b/c a NewB asked a question on the ATG forum- where Strether inserted himself with misinformation; and of course despite every vet disagreeing with him, you know he could not be wrong.

So guess it all depends on how you look at things.
