Interesting, I have the opposite strategy. Kershaw would comprise 15% of your total payroll. Personally I would take two 4.5's

I think Coyote may be on to something. From what I've seen, and I admit my sample size in $60 leagues is limited, the "star theory" does work.

I would agree the smaller the $ amount the more players like Kershaw work, as you cannot have all the lefty killers. I would suspect that backward lefty starters can do quite well in 60M leagues as compared to 100M or larger salary cap leagues.

Kershaw has turned it around and is starting to prove that he is worth the $$ spent. This is an NL only league with Unique Stadiums. Just traded away some pitching that was 14-30 and killing me. Thought Strasberg & Kenndey would have fared better in AT&T. Hoping deGrom & Teheran fair better. SGT D

This is some of his work for me. Check out my record and his. He has given up a few HR's during his time with the Glo Nuc Bombers. Had a good year though.

http://onlinegames.strat-o-matic.com/team/1399591 Worst WHIP of my SP/s

http://onlinegames.strat-o-matic.com/team/815184 Sent him to the Minors.

http://onlinegames.strat-o-matic.com/team/1023669 4.31 ERA 1.32 WHIP

http://onlinegames.strat-o-matic.com/team/1109743 4.49 ERA 1.36 WHIP and 61 HR's

http://onlinegames.strat-o-matic.com/team/1126563 23-17 and the team went 103-59

http://onlinegames.strat-o-matic.com/team/1381567 22-11 not a bad record.

About Chase teams, the links all refer to 200M. Of course, no-cap leagues are loaded of lefty sluggers---makes it harder for a lefty to succeed. Nice to see kershaw did have some success nevertheless.

Perhaps, the exact opposite is true about 60m---teams are weaker vs lhp, hence could perhaps explain why Kershaw seems to have more success.

Kershaw ended up with great numbers for me in a recently completed ($80M) Autoleague:

Wins = 24
Losses = 6
IP = 289
H = 219
K = 300
BB = 53
HR = 17
E.R.A. = 2.27

He did pitch in a pitcher's park with great defense behind him. Nevertheless, he was well worth his price tag.
