No kidding. He is the one guy, maybe due to small sample size, where it seems SOM did not look at the advanced metrics as much when doing his ratings. At least a 3 for 3B was called for, maybe a 2. Many of the other players who got low ratings, Eaton for example, are due to bad advanced metrics. If you look you can see the shift here from SOM philosophically. But I bet for Seager they didn't use them with just a month of data to go off of.

Eaton as I said in prior posts was royally screwed. His numbers are better than Pollock and McCutchen who both got 1's and Burns and Ellsbury who got 2's. SOM is without a doubt OUT TO LUNCH! Keep drinking that Kool-aid boys.

I agree with this one too. From what I've seen, Eaton is a fine center fielder.

Isn't there a few adjustments before cards release?

I used to see Eaton play here in Phoenix.I don't know if its the Chicago Italian Beef and great restauarants. But he was a very good CF with the DBacks. I see Pollack play a lot here and he covers a lot of ground in a huge CF at Chase.

Has anyone ever noticed that when great hitters get better, that their defensive range goes up with it. I thought for sure that players like Altuve and Pollack, for example got increased range because they are approaching stardom. Pulols remained a 1 at 1B way longer than was deserved. Just one example of this. But I have observed this as a strato phenomenon since the online game commenced in 02'.

Which numbers are you referring to Frank? Not saying he deserved a 4, but Eaton's advanced numbers are worse than all of those 4 examples, at least according to Fangraphs.

Giants with all 1's up the middle and I imagine Belt is a 1 or 2 at 1B. Blanco and Pence same in OF. Samardizja will love it and I hear today from Ken Rosenthal they are pushing hard to sign Cueto,
Here is to the even year WS Champs streak!!

Hveed, ESPN fielding stats has Eaton better than the 4 I mentioned. The Range Factor for Eaton is 2.47, Pollock is 2.43, Burns is 2.38, Ellsbury is 2.25 and McCutchen is 2.02. On another note SOM has Kris Bryant as a 4e5 which is better than Eaton at 4e6. I know its marginal at best but my point being they rate Bryant better. Eaton has been royally screwed as I said.
