I'm glad this is picking up some steam. I like option 2 where you get your next ranked pick, but rather than just doing replacement players the old fashioned way, how about adding to it. How about a "do not draft" list, where basically you can check off as many players as you want and the computer will not pick those players as replacements, instead skipping further down the list to the first unchecked player at the same primary position. This way, if I, say, pick Austin Jackson for a pitcher's park and miss, I don't end up with Josh Hamilton and have to pick someone off waivers. Maybe in that case I end up with Bourn, who I'd be happy with, and have less moves to attempt through waivers. I think this would reduce the waste picks by a lot, because you could check off players that don't fit with your ballpark or strategy, and not end up with them.

This is good stuff! I like this option combined with option 2!

One thing that would help though maybe just minutely would be to be able to list your player in the position where you are planning to play him this way if you miss out on him you would get the next available player at THAT POSITION . I dont necessarily mind missing out on a Moss per se but when I am planning on playing him in RF and I get another 1B as the next available at his first position that is a big problem for me. in one league I had Moss as my intended RF and listed Fielder and Ortiz on my auto draft card as well.I missed on Moss but got Fielder and Ortiz and cant remember the 1B I was given as consolation for missing out on Moss.Needless to say there were no RF'ers available in waivers that were a match for my park.
