As I've said before, I don't count cards and never have. The thought of such tedious drudgery alone frightens me. Reading cards probably takes me less time to analyze a player than it does for those using ratings guides. I also eventually know every player, but definitely not in my first few leagues. Judging from the additional mathematical analysis some of you do for each player, I imagine you unturn a few more stones than I. However, I still manage to develop a pretty good knowledge of the players without it. Like you, my time is already stretched, and I don't have the time for such effort.
However, it seems we're both happy with our methods. Someday, despite your reservations for the public leagues, it will be cool if we could match our methods and see how they come out...
