B is the rating in the basic game,, the "simpler " side of the card if you've ever played the board game. It has no bearing on the version we play here online. The board game actually has several different versions, Basic, advanced, super-advanced and then the CD-ROM adds more stuff to the super-advanced rules too.
Some players have different range ratings in the basic versus advanced game becasue there are no error ratings in the basic game and to account for them the ratings between the 2 are different. I know it seems odd that in the example above Cody Ross looks to be a better fielder in the basic game, but in actuality, the X chart is completely different for the basic game, with errors on the range chart. so a 2 fielder in the basic game is not the equivilent to a 2 fielder in the advanced/super-advanced game.
