Unleashed vs Regular set, My annual rant

I know this won't get answered, but how the hell does Ted Lilly get excluded but Neftali Feliz, Jeff Nieman and to a lesser extent Matt Harvey get in???

Both Feliz and Niemann have less innings pitched then Lilly and less of a track record for that matter, and Feliz could have been made an R3 only which has been done in the past.

It's so arbitrary.

I really wish the unleashed set would be abolished and that all the cards were included.

Just price them accordingly and leave them all in.

"Just price them accordingly and leave them all in."

I've been saying that since the unleashed feature began...

Define "all". There are more cards beyond the unleashed ones, aren't there?

Yes, there are.
I'm not calling for the Computer Game only players to be included, but if the card exists in the regular set, and all the unleashed cards do, then they should simply be included in the yearly release, no need for an Unleashed set.

If they aren't in Bold in the ratings book, or have an X in the location column on the ratings spread sheet, they should be in the current year set.

No Fuss , No muss, no controversey.

Otherwise please explain how Lilly was kept out,, but Neimann and Felz weren't, what's the criteria? It just seems totally arbitrary.

Is there no gray area between the regular set and the computer set?

Not sure what you mean??

The online game has never included the Computer only players, nothing "gray" about it. Doesn't matter innings pitched or number of plate appearences, when Strat determined they were computer only players, they immediately were excluded from being in the online game. I don't know why, I just know that's the way it's always been

I would put Raul Valdes as an unleashed candidate before the three you mentioned.

If Valdes was a SP I'd agree with you. Of course the powers that be have no problem letting Valdes in to routinely pitch 150-180 innings in relief, but lilly can't be in the regular set.

At least Valdes is priced accordingly. However, I do agree Ted Lilly's stats are in line with his career and 2011 unlike this 35-year old seldom used journeyman. the kicker is that Valdes is a rare R2.
