Closer question and more.

Can someone give me a better idea of what the closer rating does?
My closer is a C0. Will this cut it? I'm trying to build and offensive juggernaut
In coors field and I figure there will be a lot of high scoring games so I decided
Not to invest a huge amount on a closer. (just about 3 million) I have no other C anything
Pitchers on my roster is this goin to be a problem?
Also, my middle reliever is Brayan Villarreal who I just noticed has a 20! wild pitch
Rating and an 11 balk rate. I thought his price was too good to be true :)
Would any of you use a pitcher with such an aweful wild pitch and balk rating?
Any experience with such a wild card before, will it not matter so much in coors?

C0 means the closer has no stamina. The top notch C6 closer can go six batters without fatigue setting in. You don't need to designate a closer. better than have none than a C0. wild relievers annoy me so I tend to avoid them, but not sure if it hurts that much

You really want a closer with a rating of at least C3. In a (SOM-defined) closer situation, your C0 closer will become fatigued if a single batter reaches base via a hit or walk.

depends on how good the RP is.

I've used C0's before, as the pitchers themselves were exspensive and their fatigue (the @) were minimal. So yes it can be done. Typically though cheaper RP's have more @ (worse when fatigued) and are not as good to begin with.

Its my understanding that if you have no pitchers with a closer rating. That whatever pitcher is in will be instantly fatigued when faced with a closing situation.

Is this true?

With my most recent team I almost went without a closer. After I looked into the closer rating. That is how I understood it.

While in a save situation a C3 may face (3) batters before becoming fatigued. Then he is fatigued on the forth. Even if the first 3 never reach base.

if not why would you need a closer. If anyone knows definitively....

I believe that is true. Any reliever without a closer rating pitching in a closer situation will be immediately fatigued.

It is my understanding the @ symbols are ignored though. The super advanced fatigue and the sliding F? scale fatigue punishment is a black box thing implemented by an adjustment of the dice rolls. Full details proprietary and unknown/unexplained as far as I know.
