Fielder or Encarnacion

In a pitcher park tilted league with no dh any idea or experience who is the better choice. About half of starters in division are LH...My park is Dodger Stadium...probably the most HR friendly park in the entire league....Can't really decide. The "4" defense scares me a bit but the .400 OB is a strong plus for Fielder...

really depends on the rest of your lineup. They both mash!

Fielder
not even a question about it.
There are very few LH power bats in this set. Encarcion isn't that good (ok not good) vs RHP, which in a typical league you will face about 70% of.
1B is a position that sees the fewest x chances, so the best place to put a 4.
It's not even close, salary be damned, Fielder.

I prefer Fielder but both should be owned.. and with half the pitchers LH, it's certainly more of a question. Fielder does have the 0 inj. and he's raking in a league in which I own him (granted, it's in Coors), but in a league with a lot of LHSP he isn't a perfect fit. I wouldn't worry too much about the defense.

Fielder's defense (okay, that looks funny now that I typed it) hasn't been a problem. His hitting against LHP has been...relatively speaking. OPS is .632 against lefties, but 1.011 against right handers. Twice as many AB's against RHP. Home field is Petco. No DH.
