I think what he's saying is that it was a no-hitter through 9 complete innings (until the walk-off homer in the 10th).

yes, but it doesn't count as a no-hitter. Ernie Shore's "perfect game" didn't count when he relieved Babe Ruth and got 27 outs

my only "point" was a .64 pitcher gives up no hits for 9 innings+ and still loses with a normally good hitting team no less.

Janpath, just about all of us understood what you were saying. Any kind of help from his hitters, Saunders goes into the record book as one of the few sub-$1M pitchers to throw a no-hitter. Nice effort by cyber-Saunders.

Your title was misleading. i've seen the ones in the past where the guy throws a no hitter, but gives up a walk, stolen base, passed ball, sac fly for a loss. I thought it was one of those.

You're right, title should have been .64 pitcher goes 9 hitless innings... he was 1 walk shy of a perfect 9 innings no less
