Inside the park homerun by Pierre!

This 5-9 roll was hit to the pitcher's card, Shields. The reading on Shield's card is Homerun 1-15, Triple 16-20. (split card draw).

I emailed strat, with concern, because I thought initially that Pierre had rolled the homerun split result, and that he was inappropriately awarded a home run (Pierre has weak power, and the homerun would be reduced to a single).

Strat emailed me back to say that what actually happened was that Pierre had drawn the 16-20 split draw for the triple, and that he had stretched it into an inside the park home run!

A cool result! Would be great to see a play like that live on television! As for strat, my crazy good luck strikes again.

Cool stuff. This brings up something I've wanted to vent about, I wish the play by play showed the split results. I got so tired of seeing Kershaw roll 6-5 HOMERUN that I"ve quit drafting him

{chuckle} Yeah, that would be a nice enhancement, especially for old time strat board game players who still remember the excitement of the moment of that split card draw - especially when it was the difference between a home run or an out!

Congratulations, that is one of my favorite plays in baseball. Pierre is sweet against RHP and I love those stolen bases. I may be wrong but I think hitting inside the park home runs are slightly easier in certain ballparks, at least with the CD-ROM game engine.

I had two inside the park HR's by Dyson in the same season.
