I can't complain I guess--I won the game, but really??--look at these subs in the bottom of the tenth--I would rather lose the DH and put Gwynn into CF.

I guess the real question is why did Hal pinch hit Ciriaco for Span??

Well, the pinch hit was a good move. HAL brought in a right handed hitter against a 8L lefty reliever (Gonzalez). So, that was absolutely the right move. Even if the ultimate strategy was to sac bunt, having a right handed hitter there is a huge advantage, and he got a single!

Obviously that and the pinch runner made for some strange across the board defensive substitutions, but mostly I think HAL played that inning the right way. Do everything to score a run, and then hope your D can get through one inning...

HAL will NEVER move the DH to the field and force the pitcher to hit. Not going to happen, ever. It's not in the programming.

Ciriaco is a 5 CF but e16, he pinch hit for my CF, why replace him with Fontenot and make it worse?? (a 5 e25 or whatever the max e rating is)---I know why Viciedo was replaced with Pena as I have him checked to replace if ahead--though the logic should be good enough to not do that if Viciedo is the best available at the moment.
