Success with a power-less team?

You might call this my little experiment destined to fail, but for the 2nd event in the PC2013, I created an at&t park team COMPLETELY centered around hits and on base %. On base without power can come cheap, so with it being a 60m league, I put together a team of guys with almost exclusively sky high obps, along with an ok starting rotation and a terrific bullpen. The only concern is a big one: my team hit 42 HRs in real life, 16 of them via Shin Soo Choo.
I'm just curious: has anyone ever tried anything similar and gotten decent results? I'm gonna give it a shot; I think I can win some games at home, but I'm not sure about the road.

I've tried similar team without any success. I've led a couple of leagues in pitching but didn't score enough to win.
I've seen it work a few times but haven't been able to do it myself.

I haven't recently, but that was pretty much my 04 and 05 seasons. Would pick someplace like Kaufman, and get guys with good hits/OB but w powered. Of course I made sure I had a lot of speed as well.
But with the amount of players that fit this profile dwindling, I haven't tried it in a while.

I think a lot depends on the other parks in your division and league. If there are a lot of power parks I think you will get trounced.

Well, of course it can be done. Here are a few teams of my teams either last or 2nd last in team HRs that were all in the playoffs or just missed:

I have 2 60m, 1 80m, and 1 100m shown there.

Well, so far my experiment is working out. Although i'm on pace for less HRs than any team listed in this thread (22 through 63 games on pace for a whopping 56), I have a league leading .335 obp, and I'm in the middle of the pack in runs. And my pitching has been spectacular: 2.95 ERA, 1.14 WHIP, and a 1.92 bullpen ERA in 220 relief innings. I really did not expect this, but I'm 38-25. We'll see how this holds up.
