Unsportsmanlike?

I am in an unlimited cap league and I am 18-6. I have been playing with what amounts to a thirty man roster by cutting my worst two or three guys a few times due to injuries to get a more favorable match-up for my replacements and once for a park match up(I'm in Progressive). I only have one full-time regular with 600AB's. Examples include Soriano, Billingsly, Tillman, Guzman and K Morales, who was picked up by someone else when I cut him. I know it's not illegal and I run the risk of losing a guy when I cut him. The reality is these guys are really interchangeable with others of the same ilk and if they get grabbed as a FA it's no big deal. Do you think this is unsportsmanlike? For example, I think trying to get a favorable match up in the first series and then cutting guys after the games start at 10PM to then creating your real team is rather weak and not really very sporting. Am I doing the same thing by not really having a fixed 28 man roster in an unlimited cap league? I guess I wouldn't be asking if I was 6-18. I suppose I'll come back to earth and then it will be a moot point

I would never play unlimited cap (unless it was a tourney), but my 2 cents is unlimited cap is so absurd that anything should go. My vote is NO.

I wouldn't characterize the practice you described as unsportsmanlike. Everyone in your league can employ the same tactic if they choose to do so, and there is indeed a risk that you may lose a player you cut. Personally, I like continuity on a team, but everyone who has played this game has, at some point, made roster moves to gain an advantage in an upcoming series. The only difference in your league is that there isn't any salary cap. How many times have you wanted to make a move down the stretch run but couldn't because of cap problems? I'm sure we've all been there before. Well, you don't have to deal with that problem in your league and neither do the other participants. I say it's a perfectly acceptable practice.
