All Clutch Lineup

Has anyone ever tried an all (or mostly) clutch lineup? How many times on average will clutch come up for a team during an entire season? .... I wonder if some seasons there are more positive clutch players than other seasons. ... Obviously, no matter what the season there are more negative clutch guys than positive clutch hitters.... There seem to be a few positive clutch hitters in this set.... I was always under the impression that clutch situations are pretty rare, like maybe 20 to 25 per team per season, but I have no idea.... Thanks for any insight.

Radagast, here are some numbers from a 12 team keeper league that I am the commish of. In 8 years :

Total Plate Appearances - 520,460
Plate appearances in clutch situation - 61,560 (around 12% of all plate appearances)
Results affected by the SOM clutch symbol - 1,250 (around 2% of all clutch plate appearances, or .25% of all plate appearances are affected by a clutch result).

This boils down to an average of 13 clutch affected results per team per season.

Hope this is useful!

I did a couple of teams with only + clutch players but it was only moderately successful. It really doesn't mean more than less than 20 hits per season. But in a close race it might make the difference. I would think that you would want a couple clutch hitters on your team but above that seems only marginally helpful.
