Who would you rather have C. Kershaw or G. Stanton in a 12-team keeper league. Team with Stanton has Y.Puig and J.Bruce for RF, and plays in a pitchers park (1 BP HR)

In a blank draft with the #1 overall pick, I choose Kershaw. The 2013 card is money, and he's actually getting better

Kershaw over Stanton or Bruce without a thought. Kershaw over Puig, but at least I hesitate.

Well, I must feel the need to respond since this trade involves myself, and I am the one who mentioned that Kershaw and Stanton is pretty much a 50/50 even swap. Keep in mind this is a keeper league so this was the total deal:

Kershaw, Jaso, Phillips, A Torres, and Mercer for
Stanton, T. Ross, Machado, Kinsler, and Lindor.

Now, putting it in that perspective, and on the assumption that IMO Stanton in a keeper league is just as valuable (SOM is cruel to LH's SPs), I told him no thanks. I hardly think the small upgrade (for those who would rather have Kershaw) is worth trading Tyson Ross, Ian Kinsler, Manny Machado, and Francisco Lindor for the players he involved in the deal. Anyone thinking this is a remotely far offer, PM me when an opening arises in yout league. I want to join :)

I agree with you 110%.

I've never played a keeper league in my life and have never wanted to do so. That being said, if I were in a keeper league extending into next season, I would turn down the deal, too. Obviously, the Stanton card will be a beast next year, Ross is killing it, Kinsler and Machado are having solid years at key positions, and Lindor is going to be a .270-280 hitting shortstop with 10-15 power potential and gold glove defense. And while Kershaw is awesome, and the Jaso card should have some OBP punch; Philips, Torres, and Mercer are meh.

It was a smart refusal.

No Your statement was that Stanton = Kershaw and you stated it would be 50-50 split if a survey was taken, well guess what, its not even close. Get your facts straight, you got called out and don't like it. This has nothing to do with the larger deal and if your going to post that then you should provide all the facts, rosters, ballparks, etc.

And in my opinion he is equal. Ok, so few if any agree with me based on the survey. That doesn't take away the fact of how absurd the offer as a whole was. I was fine leaving our PMs private, but since you took it public, may as well get ALL the facts out.

You asked for a survey and you got it. This never was about the larger deal, that I could care less about. This is about Stanton = Kershaw and it clearly doesn't. You can try and convolute the facts all you want but it is what it is, Stanton <> Kershaw. You got called out and don't like.
