By "Greatest Shortstops," I actually mean the greatest shortstops since WWII. That means the greatest shortstops who played most, if not all of their careers since WW II. There are obviously different standards to judge this most key position. Feel free to use and/or express your own when doing so. Choose up to 10.
The second part of the poll is greatest films of the 2000s. We're almost 15 years into the millennium, so we should all already have a good set of favorite and/or best movies of it. It's easy to remember the great films of our youth, sometimes it takes a little more thought to come up with our recent faves. Again, choose up to 10.
Greatest Shortstops (Since WWII)
1. Cal Ripken
2. Derek Jeter
3. Robin Yount
4. Barry Larkin
5. Omar Vizquel
6. Ozzie Smith
7. Miguel Tejada
8. Ernie Banks
9. Luis Aparicio
10. Alan Trammell
Note: ARod would have been 2, but I'm an unabashed roids snob. If Tulo stays healthy, he's on his way to #1
Greatest Films of the 2000s
1. Minority Report
2. Her
3. Inglorious Basterds
4. Adaptation
5. There Will Be Blood
6. The Dark Knight
7. Memento
8. Animal Kingdom
9. Primer
10. A Serious Man

Can't really argue with your list but maybe Banks should be higher over Tejada and Visquel. I didn't see one movie on your list

I get you, Alk. Banks is a tough one. He was such a dominant offensive player, but he really wasn't a shortstop. So, I put him at 8 behind the vastly superior defensive Vizquel and the better defensive but also offensively awesome Tejada.
As to my movies, I recommend every one. I'm surprised you never saw The Dark Knight at least. If you can think of your faves, please share.

I find no fault with your SS list and even applaud Ripken over Jeter (a DC Oriole fan until we got our own team).
Top ten movies (considering I don't get to the movies often):
Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon
Pan's Labyrinth
O Brother, Where Art Thou?
Spirited Away
Master & Commander
The King's Speech
Inglorious Basterds
Slumdog Millionaire
Pick any 2 of the 3 LOTR movies
Future picks: Star Wars (yes they will be better than the last three as it is not possible to be worse)

Shortstops
1. Ozzie Smith - others may have the offensive numbers, but if I'm building a team, this is the guy I would want
2. Cal Ripken
3. Barry Larkin
4. Robin Yount
5. Alan Trammell (I could flip flop 4 and 5 it's that close)
Movies
Inland Empire - Lynch is still way ahead of everyone else
Mulholland Drive
O Brother Where Art Thou?
Bottle Shock
Memento
