Why I quit my Keeper leagues

I know this seems slightly narcissistic on my part but I wanted to get it out there so people don't think I abandoned them or whatever. I belonged to six Keepers at one time.

Basically I was dealing with a physical illness. For a good three months straight from last December to April I was feeling appreciably weak and with that I'd have intermittent chills. At those moments I thought I was in the process of dying as my strength level was nil. I've never been ill like that for such a long period of time. So it shook me up....as much as you can shake up a walking stiff! I had to quit everything I thought might be causing me stress. ..even if it actually wasn't.

I also went to the doctor and even after many vials of blood (at least 10) and an ungodly amount of medical tests in addition... they found nothing! Just so messed up yet sort of encouraging as well in a funny way ( I didn't have any major disease and my blood pressure dropped into the safe zone!). :D So maybe the sickness...whatever the hell it was... actually helped me in some ways. The illness slowed me waaaaaaaaaaay down.

Any how, after four months the illness dissipated. I seem to be okay again. But i don't want to go back to Keeper leagues. Thanks anyways. Just not for me.

I'm very happy you're ok, Fred. I've just gotten to know you this year, but I've really enjoyed our exchanges and our shared leagues.

Take care of yourself, dude, and good luck in your leagues.

It's still kind of weird because I have no idea if whatever I had might be coming back or not. It leaves one in a weird place. I really thought I was going to die. One thing I am left with is a VERY healthy respect for anybody dealing with a debilitating chronic medical condition. Very, very humbling.

Thanks for your kind words, I.strether. Appreciate it.

EDIT: I'm enjoying our leagues too. We might be facing each other in the playoffs. :o

Good to hear that you are apparently well (or at least better). Hopefully many more happy Strat years ahead...

Glad to have you back Fred. If you need to borrow a keeper league, I have a couple that need help.

Fred - Just saw this and had been wondering over the past several months. You are missed in the one keeper league I had with you. But I am glad that things have taken a turn for the better.
