Was thinking of saving some money with a hitting platoon in RF. However both are 3~s. Puig is available but of course at much higher cost. Not counting the arm- is playing a 3 in RF viable?

Platoons are great, I'd say yes. As long as the two hitters match your ballpark, you should be ok with 3's in RF. Do you have decent defense everywhere else?

Having a 3 range in right is no worse than having a 3 range in left. In fact, it's exactly the same. There are 2 chances in 216 of getting a FLYBALL LF X, and there are 2 chances in 216 of getting a FLYBALL RF X. The same chart is used for either.

wow coyote! Did not know that, I was just going by old baseball adage to have a good right fielder!
