I see a new set containing all the cards from 2007 thru 2014 is now in play. This seems to have been rolled out with very little fanfare. I think this is really great and can not wait to play with this large new set, is anyone else excited about this?

You're welcome :P

You are correct, for those (like me) that don't care for the ATG side, it's a great way to play with a bigger set of cards that I know, and have used in the past.

I have a live draft using this set for Saturday morning, maybe it will fill?

Very little fanfare? I don't even have a link for any kind of description on my games page.

All custom made sets will be under the ATG umbrella, it's not a set the standard way.

I just did what John G said, if you wanted a custom set made, email them and ask them. They provided it for me, so in reality, great service. :D

But as an FYI, any custom made set will be put in the ATG umbrella. He did mention this set in his weekly blog post. I'm thinking of asking him for an AL and NL only sub set of the same set.

With the right group of managers (i.e. the entire community -1) it would be a lot of fun to have a franchise league from that card set!

Will post a thread.

I asked for the set specifically for a franchise league. We could do another one.

Just an FYI on this, they didn't keep the same player ID for all players across all seasons. Example, Tim Hudson. His 07/08 seasons are basically a different player from his later seasons. there are a small handful of players like this. SOM won't change their database to fix it (and I don't expect them to), so if you are running something like a franchise league, make sure you are aware of this bug.

What we did (since it was autodraft for players) if 2 teams ended up with the same player, the highest card went to the winner.

Geekor thanks for helping make this happen.

Are you saying that a handful of players could wind up with two cards from different seasons being drafted and awarded? That is not a huge problem since you alerted us to it.

What if they could do this with the Mystery sets and combine say the 1970s and 1980s ( or all four into one set), would they be able to make that happen?

I would really like to play one season without franchises, but I understand the appeal for people who want to do a franchise league. I see one has already filled. And I think I might prefer a league where we could draft an AL and an NL team..

Looks like more than a handful.

It's a bit more than a handfull, see my list from just 12 franchises in the other thread.

As for no fanfare,

Does anyone but me read John Garcia's posts??

He announced the set there in his June 4th blog right after the set launched and even mentioned the card coding problem.
