JT, when you have an injury to a hitter in your starting lineup, HAL uses your sub and decides what he thinks the best lineup is. It's not a straight replacement into the open spot in the starting lineup.
He's doing a by the numbers evaluation of card values, park factors, and opposing SP.
If SOM had a programmer on staff they could give us an option to do a straight sub or a full lineup reset when there is an injury in the starting lineup.
