Quite a few strikeout pitchers on that team.

Six consecutive swinging strikeouts? Something else? Unintended double entendre? Intended?

I've played two or three leagues with this manager now, and cannot report having had any problems.

Do we have to make this leap??

I'm in a 86 league with him (same team name), and he pointed out that those are his initials. But that was my 1st thought too...

In my opinion, neither, although I tend to prefer to see pronounceable team names.

I mostly dislike political correctness, which too often seems out of control. However, in situations like this, it's appropriate. If I had those initials, I would simply use KK for my monogram, and I certainly would not name a team that.

If someone named Frank Ulysses Carter-King wants to use his initials for a team name, is that okay? I don't think so.

So, to answer the question... Naming a team *** *** is offensive at best and racist at worst. I'll give the manager the benefit of the doubt that he's merely trying to be funny, but it's still an inappropriate name.

As a disclaimer, I will say I don't like offensive team names in general. I don't think they have a place in this game. We have kids who either play it or follow their dad's team.

I don't think it was intended but then again it does look like he's starting to use this same pattern more and more. It could be out of spite, though.

Here's some other name examples by the user.
lo ol '90s $78,830,000 Lost the Semi-Finals Kauffman Stadium '93 95-67 .586
m m '90s $79,950,000 Astrodome '78 72-90 .444
1 1 '90s $78,410,000 Fenway Park '41 63-99 .389
h h '90s $78,670,000 Braves Field '48 71-91 .438
h h '60s $78,310,000 DC Stadium '66 77-85 .475

Had the manager in one of my leagues, good competitor, no concerns, but I will say that the headlines were in bad taste sometimes...i.e. "K_K annihilate ...."

Even the owner name itself is mixed up nonsense.

TOTALLY AGREE! I've needed to explain more than one team name "creatively" to my 12 year old.
