Padres

PostMon Apr 04, 2016 11:28 pm

I really don't watch much MLB but caught (pun here) 2 innings of the Dodger Padres game tonight before the NCAA Basketball game.
How can grown men that have played this game for that long not be able catch and throw a baseball? The Padres are in big trouble in little China. They looked like they were wearing cement shoes and iron gloves. How can a 3rd basemen not track a ball from right field. Puig scored on a triple on that throw. It reminded me of my 11 year olds baseball game on Sunday, it was painful to watch. The other team could not even complete a throw and catch.

YES VILLANOVA WON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

lol, it was almost like they didn't want puig to pile on and score but he had to. they'll come out fired up tonight and probably rock kazmir. I did like the dodgers approach at the plate though. getting solid strokes on the ball. agon is surgical with a bat.

LOL. I was at that second game in the record-setting shutout series. Padres' fan since moving here in 2010, first year w/out season tix. This new team is the worst I've seen since my arrival.

Game I saw, all three Dodgers runs came on two misplays by Jon Jay in CF in an otherwise deadly dull game. The new owners have also amped up the advertising all over the stadium at the expense of the experience. Very sour night, stadiu looked half-full, maybe.

it was sad seeing the lackluster crowd in game 2. agon's ball could be called a misplay, although it knuckled strangely. puig's was just a laser over his head. no fault to him there imo. luckily they got to coors, where shutout streaks go to die.

I think as some of us get older and the time when we actually caught and threw and hit baseballs get further back in the memory we forget hos difficult this stuff can be. I know if I had really been half as good as my memory tells me I was I would have a plaque in that HOF place. Since it is not there have to assume either those voters missed seeing me or my memory not 100% accurate.

There was a time I could only remember making a half dozen or so errors in my life. Now though cannot remember ever making an error. Well maybe that one throw in the dirt the first baseman should have scooped which means it was really his error. So come to think of it I never committed an error. Give me a few more years and that error count will not just be zero, it will be in the negative. I will leave how that works up to them fancy sabermatricians.

Now I've seen it all. I can't believe you guys have devoted a thread to my Padres. Of course it's more about their Bad News Bears nature than anything else but still! :D

I know how bad we are this year and after watching the first two games with the Pirates I'm going to tell you the Pirates may not be far behind the Padres in ineptitude this year. Can anyone field a ground ball in that Pirates infield? I'm predicting a long season for Pitt fans. Of course they are in a tough division so that doesn't help.
