Strat-O-Matic Baseball 365

How do you set your players to steal bases at the max. I have set my players to steal more and team at Very Aggressive. This doesn't seem to be working. My AA players sit at 1B and double plays happen often. I have 2 AA and 2 A stealers. It doesn't matter if I am ahead behind or tied they just sit at 1B and it is followed by a double play. I would think that these settings would steal when ever they get on first but it doesn't. Should I try and fool HAL and set team at aggressive? I have ground into 47 DP's in 42 games. I have attempted 51 SB's.

It kind of depends on who the stealers are---if the advanced rating is something like 5*(19/12) that is only 4 chances out of 36 to get the good lead, and with a 12 second rating HAL usually won't steal even with aggressive ratings. these are McCutchen (2014) type guys that steal 20 in 22 attempts but was ob a lot. A Lot of 60's Hank Aaron cards had that type card.

if the rating is something like 2-8* (17-15) that is 26 of 36 to get a good lead, and with a 15 poor lead rating Hal will steal anyway with aggressive + settings. these are guys that might steal 60 bases and get caught 20+ times, a lot of 60's Maury Wills cards looked like that.

ignore the AA, A, B ratings--- they are basic ratings and not used on-line-- basic ratings take the number of stolen bases into account even when the player was a low use guy, basic ratings need near 20 SB to be A rated.

Advanced ratings only look at percentages of success vs failure along with OB pct to determine how often the guy actually tried to steal when he did reach 1st. Some B guys are better than some AA guys with advanced (again with advanced stealing, pretend the AA,A,B settings aren't printed on the card at all)

In the 2013 set I had two teams steal 440 bases. I currently am playing a SB team that is on pace for 324 SB's. I set my team SB at aggressive and my best basestealers (Gordon, Hamilton, Dyson) at run more. Hope that helps. My right click button on my mouse is broken so I cant paste my team but the url is:

I did change to aggressive from very and it appears that they are attempting more steals. Thank you both for your replies.

635 steals. I _think_ it's a record, but I'm not entirely sure. It sure was a fun team to manage.
