http://365.strat-o-matic.com/team/1425162Often see folks asking whats wrong with their teams. Well ,lets turn it around a bit. I didnt expect much out of this team yet they had the best record and plowed to the championship with ease. Why?

Good use of payroll. Money not wasted on the bench or in the bullpen.
Correct use of relievers.

Starters well-suited to National with low hits allowed. Wade Davis paid big dividends as a primo closer set at regular not maximal so he gave 112 innings at less than 2 era, helping the team to a 32-19 one-run record. The offense was not particularly set up to take advantage of National giving more singles to righties, but was conducive to Nationsl with a high batting and on-base. Was a bit surprised that the pitching was so good when the defense wasn't that great--something for me to think about. Your primo * pitcher gave 300 great innings.
To me, the big values are the starting pitching doing so well in National with a not great defense and Wade Davis.

I agree with Freeman. The great 3.05 ERA is a little surprising with a less than sparkling defense. However, the ballpark and the right type of pitchers clearly made up for it. McCutcheon had better numbers than I've seen in other leagues when not in a hitters park.
Overall, it all came together. Nice job.

Strange...it double posted me. First time I've seen that. This is an edit of the duplicate post. I still don't understand why we are unable to Delete your own post.
