The Players Championship Tourney (or PC/Tour) is an annual Tournament of 5 Events to eventually narrow down to 12 Owners/Players who play in a Final League for Champion honors. The winner gets tickets to an MLB game, but the bragging rights is what everyone wants. More often than not the last league for an Event won't have exactly 12 Players so people not in the Tourney can throw a team in the league, simply for the fun, competition or experience.
