Strat-O-Matic Baseball 365

Now that I have stepped back from the ledge, I decided to post this for the sheer absurdity of it.

Check out the 17th inning.

Among the highlights.
1) 16 runs allowed
2) 18 consecutive batters reached base
3) 8 BB issued
4) 11 singles given up
5) only 1 extra base hit - A grand slam of course
6) my pitchers actually ended up only retiring 2 batters as there was a caught stealing in there. Both outs were K's
7) Elvis Arrujo ended up throwing 161 pitches in 7.2 innings for the game. He actually threw a great 7 scoreless extra innings prior to the 17th.

Anyone seen a 17th inning like this before?

Wow - only 2 runs were scored when the second out was made.

I wonder how many of the hometown fan stayed for the bottom of the 17th.

When pitchers stay at F0 for a long while--this can happen--though I have never seen 16 runs--I have seen 10 and 11 run consecutive innings off a tired pitcher.

Almost always these games end in something similar to 22-5 scores. I have had several--and almost all had 10 or 11 run innings late or in extras when one team runs out of rested pitchers. I even had one game were both teams scored 10+ runs in the 18th when both teams ran out of fresh pitchers and both relievers were on their 3rd or 4th inning after hitting FO. If I can find that one I will post it, but it was a few years back.

When a pitcher hits FO--that is not as tired as he can get. (I think--I really don't know, but just seems logical to me)---I guess it is about half-tired--- The tired factor may go from F9 to -F9 though it will never read worse than F0---rolls have a % of a chance to be altered to a hit (any hit, may not just be a single) or Walk when a pitchers starts to tire--as the pitcher continues to stay in--the % chances the roll gets altered gets higher and higher--approaching 100% if he stays in for innings after becoming F0.--It's kind of like taking one for the team--though Hal never seems to put a position player in to pitch in that situation.

Yeah, that F0 really goes to well below 0.

What annoyed me most about it was that HAL had Volquez throw 5 innings for my opponent after he pitched the prior game, while I had 2 starters (Kyle Gibson and Shelby Miller) both available and fully rested.
