Doubles

I saw in a promo for the Braves-Astros spring training game that the Braves had the 5th most doubles last year (295) but scored second fewest runs (649) last year. I realize scoring on doubles depends on OBP of table setters and someone following to drive in the guy hitting the double. But it got me thinking.

How strong is the connection to doubles and scoring?

I have never built a team specifically targeting doubles. Thought it might be interesting to get links to some teams others have built specifically targeting doubles or even just leading the league in doubles by accident here. How did those teams fare for scoring runs in relation to rest of league?

Nice, Indians Michael Brantley and Jason Kipnis each gave you 50+ doubles, and Carlos Santana who had an off year added 25 more.

This 102-win team (in a non-theme 80m league) was a double-double -- based on hitters with lots of doubles and pitchers with lots of double-plays:

Led league with 204 opposition-GDP (20 more than runner-up) and 374 doubles (29 more than runner-up).

Doppelganger, of course, means double ... and Dvoynik was the Russian name of Dostoevsky's novel "The Double" ...

Here is my team that starts in Yankee Stadium tonight. We did a draft and unique stadiums. This team should be able to put up some double totals. Hoping that it can win some games. SP's are weak but have a strong bullpen.
