What are people's thoughts on the new set so far now that a lot of people are getting close to (or have) completed some seasons?

The seasons are 9 weeks long. So the early leagues wont finish for many weeks. I like the daily game. Its a challenge. My leagues just started. If your not in a league, give it a try.

my 1st offering of the year has been pathetic. got in my head to try an all injury team and lets just say i lacked the skill to find gold on the garbage heap.
small sample size but i'll list the sub 5 mil players in my league in the top 20 of OPS.
trumbo-4 (wrigley)
pujols-8 (wrigley)
story-11 (citibank)
desmond-17 (globe life)
jd martinez-18 (citibank)

The biggest thing I have noticed so far in the 3 leagues I have been in is the horrible performances by Relief pitchers in general. a lot of really high ERAs for RP's and Closers in general. Overall, I have seen a lot of top 20 Cap hitters underperforming for their prices. But there are a lot of good under 3-4M players performing well or at a good value for their pricetags.

So far, it has been a tough set for me to get a handle on.

Ton's of HR's given up by SP's & RP's. I have Reed and he has given up 26 so far and I have Miller who is at 21. In one league I was in Max S. gave up 56 and Sale gave up 59 HR's.
One Team played in SAFCO and had this SP staff: Porcello gave up 49, Bumgarner 47, Lester 40 and Archer 36. SGT D

This is my team in a Unique Stadium draft and I have K. Bryant and he sucks as does my team. SGT D

I kind of had this thought this year that defense is over-priced, that high-end starting pitching is under-priced, and very high-end relief is under-priced. So instead of putting money into defense, I put it into starting pitching/and or top relievers, made sure my offense was good up and down the line-up, and was somewhat indifferent about defense.

Here are my six finished teams:

http://365.strat-o-matic.com/team/1449992
http://365.strat-o-matic.com/team/1451018
http://365.strat-o-matic.com/team/1453735
http://365.strat-o-matic.com/team/1454243
http://365.strat-o-matic.com/team/1455448
http://365.strat-o-matic.com/team/1458414

Win totals: 75, 86, 92, 79, 84, and 88. Average: 84-78.

So, eh. Seems I did better in power ballparks, maybe the sacrifice in extra hits for bad defense got off-set by the additional power. Of course I generally do better in power parks anyway, so that's a speculative inference.

Thanks Freeman. That's a pretty good cross section of Parks and Players. Your teams really hit a bunch of HRs. I'd be willing to bet that if you could have gotten Freddie Galvis with one of your top 5-8 picks, you would have gotten at least 15-20+ HRs out of him and might have dropped a full run or more per game over a season from his defense and DP's he would have turned. That alone might have been worth 5-9 more wins per season. I think he is one of the most high value players in the set at just over 3M(3.07.) - Especially in a power park. Just a thought. ;)

A majority of the teams I play against play in LH Power Parks or Even Power Parks. A lot of others play at AT&T. I have been tempted to give Wrigley another shot, but with better starting pitching the 2nd time around. It could neutralize a lot of Lefty Power and maximize RH Power at home. I played their early and my team was abysmal.
