Im interested in setting up a 2 team 2017 League.Im going to keep it simple on my 1st try.


1: Owners will draft 2 teams (1) pitching Staff pick,(2) hitting team pick. ( It does not matter which one you pick first..just to be clear) Third round will be for (1)FA
2: Teams will be allowed to pick 2 Free Agent from all the remaining teams that are available (that have not been picked).This will be done in reverse of draft order,(12-1).Second round (1-12)
3:Sal cap is set at 100 million
4:League set at 12 teams.
5: D/H Rule in use.
6: 2nd round draft will be reverse order of 1st round.
7: Owners must use a stadium from 1 of their (2) team choices.
8: Play-off (1) round best of 7.....Finals best of 7
9:NO WAIVER...Frenzy....
10: ALL remaining players from the 2 teams that you have picked are your minor league players and can be called up at any time until game 141...NO MOVEMENT of players after that date
11:If i have left anything out I am open to ideas
12: I will create league when it is full.

A randomizer is used to establish draft order.

Just to be clear...round 2 is reversed from round 1(12-1)...also FA pick is also reverse order 12-1

It looks like you want people to draft two HALF teams (example Braves pitchers Indians hitters)?As opposed to the more common approach of allowing each person to pick two whole teams. .... Is that correct?

it was suggested sal cap was to low. Cap is now 100 million.

So I'm assuming you're having a 3 round draft. 2 Rounds for two half-teams and a '3rd' for a "FA" player from the non-picked teams. You need to clarify this, it is ambiguous in your rules. The 3rd round should probably also be 12-1 order. You said you wanted it simple, but this will be a much more difficult draft. For instance, Many teams have either very little hitting, or very little pitching. One team doesn't even have 14 hitters to put on your draft card. Just something to think about....The rules will have to be tweaked some (IMO) from the current layout.

corrected thanks Jeep....i just wanted to try something different...i always wonder what if that pitching staff was on that team ...what wud happen.....like i said this is my 1st try at a league so any and all input is helpfull

How about having a 2 round free agent draft in reverse order of the 1/2 team draft, 12-1 then 1-12. That should enable the teams to shore up any glaring weaknesses and have enough players to fulfill draft requirements. With the top 12 hitting and pitching halves being drafted and 2 free agents, i don't see why teams wouldn't be competitive. I am assuming that we would be free to pick whatever half we want in round 1. The way the rule is written could be interpreted to mean 1st round we are all picking pitching halves and 2nd round the batting halves. Hope there's enough support for a new guy with a new idea.
