Thoughts behind CHALLENGE:Making it Real PostWWII league

Just for the record, I created the "Making it Real" Challenge league for a few reasons. I realize that the Strat community is more aligned with being in leagues with MORE money available and MORE players in the player pool. The past "reduced" player pool league I just finished had Gates Brown as the league leader in AVG(OVER .400),B. Humphreys Dale Murray and Lance McCullers(??) as the ERA leaders, 10 batters with over 60 HRS(Adcock and Mantle at 69 each), 10 players with over 140 Rbi's( Brett league leading with 176), HOF pitchers with over 70 Hrs allowed, etc etc etc.
Now I realize that these 12 team leagues are going to have ALL STARS at every position, 1-9(DH leagues) and so HOF pitchers will get hit more. Its just a little odd to have bit players with hardly any career---lead leagues because there is NO usage control on a guy's fabulous "season" of like less than 100ab's, or pitcher with 6 starts in reality getting 25-30 here and his "awesome" stat lines don't play right when extended over a REAL 162 game season.
So the rules I created here, drastically curtail usage by excluding them from the player pool. I think it creates an extremely challenging league setup. In my original list of drafted and ranked players, I believe I had at least 6 or 7 hitters ( out of the 14) salaried under 1 Mil a year, and at least 3 pitchers too( out of the 10). Forcing realistic outlays of funds for pitching and hitting, with No DH makes for a Very challenging league. I do Not have hopes for the league getting filled, but I did want to try to induce that. I believe that my outlay of funds was 28.35 for Pitching, and 31.65 for hitting. If I had friends that were into Strat and Tabletop baseball as much as I was, I would have made this a private league and offered a $50 prize to the winner---Just to see how this would all play out. Anyway---that was the thought process on creating challenging league based on smaller pool of players and a smaller budget with NO DH( to HELP the pitchers! lol). ALL teams in the HISTORY of MLB has had, and always will, bit players and non superstars that make their contribution to a TEAM. They are inside STRAT's player pools. Viva! the Pitcher and the less than SuperStar major leaguer!
