Mike Trout- Injury Rating

Why does Mike Trout always get screwed on his injury rating? Player who played less games, were injured more, and had less at bats have better injury ratings than Mike Trout. And as someone else pointed out, this is at least the second year in a row......

My best guess is it has something to do with the Angels as a team.... Maybe if they give Trout the 1 injury chance instead of 2, the Angels just win too many games... But even that doesn't make sense....

TBH, just lower Yelich to a 2 injury (same as Trout and Meadows who both played more games) and problem solved

Yeah, that does seem fair... I believe Jose Altuve, (last year and this year) might have also been one of the guys who had less games and at bats when compared to Trout. It will be interesting to see if he gets the 2 injury chance.

Altuve will get plenty of injury chances this year, with all the beanings he's gonna get!

The better question is how did he get a 2 in CF?

I live in SoCal, and I'm not a Angel/Dodger fan, but know a 1 in CF when I see one.

SMFH Strat... time to update your dated INJ ratings and defensive ratings.

A 2 rating is fine in my book when a player goes on the dl (catchers who a get a 2 w/o being on dl?) and only plays a certain number of games or abs. But if a player plays in a 134 games like Trout did, then make a special 2 that limits how many games the player can be injured for (like a BONDS ATG8 green 2 2004 card).

i had 2017 aaron hicks (2 injury) go on the dl 9x one season for 35 games total. however he only played 88 games and 301 abs in the mlb season, so hard to be to be frustrated when he played more games/abs. but Trout could end up with 100 games/400 abs despite real mlb season.

I was the one who brought it up originally. It's not that he doesn't deserve a 2 inj rating, it's just that SOM is inconsistent in handing them out. Last year Trout had 603 PA's in 140 games and got a 2, Altuve had 595 PA's in 137 games and gets a 1 rating. This year, more PA's, more games played than Yelich, Trout gets a 2 inj, Yelich gets a 1 inj, so it appears there is no rhyme or reason for the different ratings.

Maybe someone needs to start a West Coast based online card game that won't undercut Trout's greatness.

The 2 in CF is maybe even more inexplicable. Dude can roam like unfettered cellphone coverage and has a magnet for a glove. Combined with the 2 injury rating, you gotta ask what Trout did to piss the Strat godz off!

I think Calhoun (in RF) had a good year defensively.
IDK if that explains the 2 rating for Trout.

He's the best player in baseball, and deserves a 1 in the field.
