Mookie Betts

Never particularly liked his card given the price but got stuck with him in two leagues--one in a power park and one in a pitcher's park--and he has been horrible in both (27 games in one and 24 in the other). Just killing both of those teams. I dont expect him to be great offensively but he should be pretty good and he is an albatross. I calculated the NERP in one and it was 27 at home, which aint bad. I am just wondering how others have done with his card. Logically, it doesnt seem prudent to cut him but two horrible starts make me wonder.

In the leagues I've played in that have Betts, he's done pretty well. A big part of what he does is score-- I haven't seen him crack 100 rbi.

He good this way:
-Decent power vs R
-He's got fantastic on base vs RHP

And he has these underrated attributes as well:
-He's incredibly fast ( not stealing but just baserunning which is probably more important than stealing since a 1st to home on a double actually scores a run )
-Amazing defense, a '1' e2 with a -4 arm to boot
-He can't be injured too much ( unlike the highly sought Yelich who can actually go down for 15 gms ).

Thanks for your insight. I checked around with some of my past leagues and that squares with what I saw there. Still not my favorite player....not a good enough average in the game for a pitcher's park and not enough power for a power park for my taste...but should be a good all-around player, anyway. I'm keeping him in one league and I was able to do a pretty good two player swap in a 90 million league that I think makes my team better. You make a mistake on a 10 million player and it's hard to fix. I still dont know why he has been completely awful for my teams...
