Probably Asked and Answered already...

PostFri Feb 11, 2022 3:30 pm

Was there ever an official response from Strat-O as to why a DH won't be shifted in a starting lineup to back fill an injury?

Just seems odd that we don't even have the option.

For Example: I have a few leagues in ATG9 leagues where I have miraculously landed Jimmie Foxx, but also landed the BU i put in the draft since I vary rarely get Foxx if I try for him.

So I like to run Foxx at DH and my secondary 1b at 1b - generally better D on this player. But since I have Foxx at DH he will only ever start there and never move to 1b unless I actually change the lineups.

This means that I usually end up with a sub-par fill-in for a couple of games if 1bman-X goes down in games 1 or 2 of a series, and will probably have to live with that sub-par player for at least one more unless it was a 3+game injury which would facilitate a full series swap.

As I said - I'm sure this was asked somewhere, just interested in the response. (and maybe riling up the mob because HAL has been treating me like a red-headed step child these days)

Thanks for any answers or direction to that answer elsewhere on the boards in advance.

That problem has been fixed for ATG, and I think for 20XX. It might still be a problem for mystery teams, but I use my DH as a backup in the field all the time. You just have to make sure you only have 1 level of change. In your case though, you should be able to set Foxx as your back up 1B and then bring any sub off the bench as DH.

Really? That's great.

The rules page still has it listed the other way.

Will test it out.

Thanks

Just as a follow up:

It looks like it is working properly now. At least in the ATG games (the only ones I have running at the moment)

I think IgglesFan is available.

I understand why, but was disappointed it wasn't Red Wolves.

I'm fully on board with a change just not [i]the[i] change.

Personally, I was hoping for Washington Pigskins. Note that I did submit this when they were supposedly taking suggestions for a possible name change about 3 years ago.

1) Pigskin = Football
2) Nice nod to the earlier teams of the 70's and 80's (and maybe a tiny bit of the 90's) and that awesome OLine of ours "The Hogs" and their great fan section the "Hogettes"
3) And most importantly I could still be Sknsfan in all my places - emails, usernames, etc.

The importance of the Sknsfan name is the fact that I got to remove the 'I' from the name Skins - hence a blind Skins fan - "no eyes"

Best pun I can come up with now is "CommanFan" - as in Q: "You're a Washington fan?" A: "No 'der"

Luckily I can say that was actually a bad dad pun given to me by my father. Unluckily (is that a word?) It's still the best I've got.

It was interesting when they were the WFT -- but then I guess WFT became WTF?
