I played strat as a kid and played the online game up until about five years ago. Just jumped back in and have three teams. In each league he remains a free agent. What am I missing?

Look at the comparable players in that price range. You can have 2 of those salary players on your roster but not 3 and be competitive in the standard cap league. Except for SS which a fielding #1 is a premium everyone else beats him in the slash line on almost all of the categories. The +1 arm doesn't help much either. Too many negatives for me. The $10 million players need to have little downfall.

Excellent points. I am in pre-waivers now and need a CF desperately. I play in Target - Citi, CBP in division too. So looking for SLG. Caroll Rodriguez and Robert available in waivers.

Go to FA CF and click on slugging to rate them from best to worst. You will see a drop after Lewis.

Welcome back Squid444. I think shying away from Carroll is the right call. He's reallllly bad vs. LHP and is a 3 in CF.
Robert is much better vs. LHP than he is vs. RHP. He's a 1 though. Unless you have 6-8 LHP's in your division, I would stay away from him. That leaves J-Rod. He's a 2 in CF....very good vs. RHP (51 total bases; 8 BPHR's) and is good vs. LHP (39 OB; 8 BPHR's).

I have no idea why Carroll costs 800K more than J-Rod.

Carroll is a bad bargain. Robert is better against LHP than RHP, but is better than Rodriguez for both and is the cheapest.
These calculations are for Great American Ballpark and do not consider stolen bases.

Name ONERPL /ONERPR /ONERP /DONERP /Price

Robert. 31.62 /25.16 /27.09 /28.39 /$8.25
Carroll. 16.87 /31.16 /26.87 /26.07 /$9.60
JRod... 21.32 /23.39 /22.77 /24.57 /$8.81

ONERPL-Offensive NERP against LHP
ONERPR-Offensive NERP against RHP
ONERP-Overall Offensive NERP
DONERP-Combined Offensive and Defensive NERP

Oops! I was using the 2022 Ratings Guide info for my post instead of the current 2023 Guide. I don't know a NERP from a burp, Squid444, but it looks like Roberts is your guy.

Not much power only 3 BPHR against RHP (I don't count a 1-2 as a chance) along with no doubles or triples. He is also a 2 injury.

Roberts it is. Is it just me or are there way more high-priced players in the newer sets?
