Tie Break Procedures ?

Recently completed this League here:

https://365.strat-o-matic.com/league/472110

The final two playoff spots were split between four teams that finished 82-80. I cannot figure out what determines the squad that advances.

For one thing the Harbor and Belters finished tied in their division. The Belters won the season series 14-10, but the Harbor squad was awarded first place. Anyone know why?

The Belters team was deemed the wild card winner over the remaining two 82-80 teams, again on what basis I'm uncertain.

After both teams advanced home field advantage was awarded to the Belters (who lost the initial tie-breaker, so i'm confused).

Any graybeards on here who can explain this to me would be appreciated. Thanks

im not veteran but this is copied from rules page

- What happens in the event of a tie for a Division Winner, Wild Card spot, or home-field advantage?
Tiebreakers for a 2-way tie are, in order:
- Head-to-head record vs. each other
- Run differential overall
- Coin flip
Tiebreakers for a 3-way tie are, in order:
- Best record vs. teams within division
- Run differential overall
- Coin flip

Im guessing the wild card was a 3-way tie, after one of the 4 teams was awarded the division title...and thus, the wild card team had a better record within it's division ?

still doesn't explain why the team that won the season series wasn't given the division title....

wait for confirmation from other more experienced players....good luck

actually, looking at your postseason schedule, it seems you were the wild card, as you are playing the team with the best record in the league

maybe SOM doesnt change the order and place that other team above yours positionally in the standings, but seems the playoff matchups dictate who won the division and who is wild card

thus, after losing that tie break for division crown due to H2H record, you then seemingly won the wild card on the strength of your 38-24 division record, which was better than the other 2 remaining 82-80 teams you tied with for wild card
