contest credits ?

PostWed Mar 26, 2025 6:51 am

I didn't even try or know, but SOM sent me an email saying you've won a credit during January contest for "walks" (guessing hitters)

I seemingly finished 3rd and won a credit to my surprise (again, I didn't even try to make team "walk heavy"

my question is, "does it always take SOM two months to award those kind of credits ?....seems they would have had the results/data in early February

The January contest was "Pitcher walks". It looks like you ranked 9th but were selected as the winner from places 4-10 for a credit. Congrats!

thanks

I thought inadvertantly rostered a good walk offense, and instead, I inadvertantly rostered a crappy pitching walks team, unless you meant "least amount of walks".

either way, I didn't know, try, or realize....have never tried for one of those contests

it's also ironic, because it comes (the random selection) in a 4-5 week period of COMPLETE torching by HAL across the board of all my teams....losing playoffs, missing playoffs, and mercilessly hammering good pitching

thanks for input

Actually, the team had to start play in January--so whenever all leagues that started in January end (and you have an over .500 record) you will get credit(s) if you rank 1,2 or 3. Of course, all those leagues will take two months to play so late March is about right.

I won 1 credit by accident too, but I never try to put a team together to win those.

I might if I played ATG a lot, those team have huge advantages over 20XX in most all the contests with the exception of pitcher's strikeouts possibly. (I think that was the way I got my one 3rd place finish)

thanks milleram

that makes much more sense, because the team that won the walks credit, just finished the season this past week

I also agree that the inflated hitting and pitching in ATG would be hard to compete with from single season modern leagues

What's funny, is based on that theory, perhaps the higher salary caps would definitely favor hitting contests (seemingly), but my credit came from regular $80 mil no dh league (default)

anyway, thanks for good info
