What is the SP* rating based on? There are SP* withn only 133 IP and SP with 233 IP. If you compare Pedro Martinez` 2000 SP card (29 games, 217 IP) with Greg Maddux SP*card (28 games and 209 IP) it does not make sense. Is this another riddle of HAL? Any feedback?
It's suppose to be based on reallity In the olden days, before 1970, most pitchers started on 3 days rest. The one with non * are usually relievers that filled in, Of course, current day most pitchers need 4 days rest.
This game would be enhanced, if HAL paid attention to usage.
Who is the pitcher with only 133 innings and an * rating.
in general to get * rating you need 33+ starts and/or 200 innings. The idea is not that the pitcher did in fact start every 4th game but if he had say 34 starts he could have been used in a 4 man rotation. At least it is not that much of a stretch to allow that strategy if a manager so chooses. But if a guy only pitched 100 innings then it would be a stretch to think that pitcher could have been an every 4th game starter.
he must of gotten hurt - started 19 games and used in only 19 games in 55 and 56 he was used mostly as a reliever and then his career was over. pitcher injuries aren't really reflected very well - so would guess for his 19 games he was a 3 day rest guy. It would help this game if they considered usuage in how the players were used.
